Welcome to the Dharma Yatra website
On this site you will find all you need to know about the Dharma Yatra; a walking meditative "pilgrimage" through the beautiful French countryside.
We regret that there will be no Dharma Yatra in France in 2019, as we were unable to establish a full team of organisers to host the Yatra. We’d like to thank all those who stepped forward and offered to help with the Yatra organisation for this year.
The next French Dharma Yatra is planned for 21-31 July, 2020. We are confident this can happen with the support of our community. If you can help in creating this wonderful event please contact us.
2020's French Dharma Yatra teachers will be Christopher Titmuss, Zohar Lavie, Denis Robberechts and Nathan Glyde.
We will have a maximum capacity of 125 adults and up to 25 children (under 16 years old).
We are pleased to announce a 10-day Dharma Yatra will take place in Germany; 6–16 August, 2019.
There is space for 75 people, including 12 children. This Dharma Yatra will take place near the town of Reutlingen, an hour on the train from Stuttgart in south Germany. The teachers for the German Dharma Yatra will be Christopher Titmuss and Ulla Koenig. Registration opens on Wednesday 3 April, 2019 at 8 am (UK time), 9 am (Central European Time).
Visit dharmayatraworldwide.org for more details.
We would also like to inform you that following the cancellation of the 2019 French Dharma Yatra, Dharma Nature (the association created by Denis Robberechts, one of the teachers on the French Yatra) has decided to add an extra Sangha Holiday to the two which are already planned this summer, with a special program of philosophical workshops and meditations for children aged from 7 to 12 years old. This event will take place 29 July-5 August, 2019. For more information please visit dharmanature.org
A Yatra is a pilgrimage. Men, women and children have gone on walking pilgrimages for thousands of years. The Yatra operates without a fixed cost for participants, but rather in the spirit of sharing costs amongst all participants and with the invitation to make a donation to teachers and managers.
The only fixed fee we ask for is the registration fee that, much like a deposit, confirms your presence and assists us with some of the pre-event bills.
We hope you will choose to join a Dharma Yatra, it is a wonderful event.
